United’s ‘Dreamliner’ finally sees daylight

Friday, 02 Aug, 2012 0

United Airlines unveiled its much anticipated Boeing 787 Dreamliner today at Boeing’s Everett, Washington facility.

United is the Dreamliner’s launch customer and will take delivery of the first 787 in September. The airline has ordered 50 Dreamliners for delivery by 2019.

The 787 has 30 percent more range and uses 20 percent less fuel than similar aircraft.  Emissions and take off and landing decibels are also lower.  United plans to use these attributes to open up new routes like the just-announced Denver-to-Tokyo service beginning next spring.

The United Dreamliner will have 36 seats in BusinessFirst, 72 in Economy Plus and 111 seats in Economy Class.
