Visit Orlando appoints new sales chief
Destination marketing organization Visit Orlando has named industry veteran Michael D. Waterman as new sales chief.
As chief sales officer for Visit Orlando Waterman oversees the travel industry and convention sales teams to cement Orlando’s position as the most visited destination in the US.
Waterman assumes his new role on August 26 and reports directly to president and CEO George Aguel.
"Mike is a well-respected industry leader with a wealth of experience. He could not be joining at a better time, as our destination is undergoing an extraordinary level of growth," Aguel said.
Waterman has 30 years of experience in hospitality sales and marketing, including 24 years at Marriott International in various sales and marketing leadership roles.
He also served on the boards of the US Travel Association and Destination International.
Most recently he was president and CEO of Visit Houston.
