Indian full-service airline Vistara is spreading its wings to the Sri Lankan capital.
It will launch flights direct to Colombo from Mumbai starting on November 25 with service every day except Wednesday.
It is deploying three-class Airbus A320neo aircraft on the route.
Vistara says it is the only airline offering Premium Economy on flights linking India with Sri Lanka.
"Sri Lanka is a very promising destination for Vistara, given the growth it continues to record in trade and tourism, especially as India is the largest tourism source market," said Leslie Thng, Vistara CEO.
Colombo becomes Vistara’s fourth international destination after starting flights to Dubai, Bangkok and Singapore this year.
Tourism to Sri Lanka has been steadily picking up in recent months after a significant downturn in the aftermath of the Easter bombings in and around Colombo.
