VLM Airlines says passengers are up 30% this year.

Passengers figures reached 264,600 for the first six months of the year, up 30% from the same period last year.

VLM, the largest airline operating out of London City Airport, says it also acheived a good on-time performance of 91.5%. These factors mean the airline is capitalising on the business travel market, which represents about 80% of its business.

Last month VLM launched three flights a day to Jersey from London City. It also flies to Machester, Liverpool, Antwerp, Brussels, Luxembourg and Rotterdam. Last year VLM posted its sixth consecutive year of profit.
