AirAsia is restarting flights linking Indonesia’s capital Jakarta with Phuket.
Flights will run three times a week from July 2, the airline said.
"Phuket is a destination with high tourism potential and is popular among both Thai and foreign travellers. The addition of a direct flight from Phuket to Jakarta will be another way for tourists to reach Indonesia and other destinations," said AirAsia Thailand CEO Santisuk Klongchaiya.
The airline is offering $40 introductory one-way fares bookable until May 26.
That is cheaper even than averaged fares on the Jakarta-Bali route and is targeting Jakarta travellers who would normally look at spending weekends in Bali.
It marks a return of the route which had been operated for years in the past.
The airline also serves Bangkok from Jakarta and Bali.
