AirAsia Group chief executive Officer Tony Fernandes has again teased the possibility the airline will soon resume long haul flights to London.
In a post on his personal Facebook account Fernandes said long haul division AirAsia X would fly to London again ‘soon.’
However it is not the first time he has dropped a similar hint.
In 2014 and again in 2015 Fernandes said it would resurrect the KL-London route which was discontinued in 2012 due to high operating costs.
"KL-London is the most wanted route for AAX, and we will deliver it. I am quite sure," Fernandes said back in 2014.
This comes as Airbus is reportedly close to an agreement to build 100 jets for AirAsia Group, likely for A321neo narrow-body aircraft, at a list price of about US$12.5 billion.
