Airlines boss facing fine for violating cockpit rules
Chang Kuo-wei, chairman of Taiwan carrier Starlux Airlines has enjoyed an eventful few days.
The airline founder was recenty complimented for his hands-on approach.
He flew to Japan to personally apologise to passengers stranded overnight at Tokyo Narita Airport.
Two consecutive flights were cancelled for weather and then staffing issues, causing the extra long delay.
Over 300 passengers were forced to sleep in the terminal.
Now Chang is facing a fine for allowing an aviation journalist into the cockpit.
It happened during the airline’s maiden flight to Los Angeles from Taipei.
Chang is not only founder and chairman but also a qualified pilot.
He captained the flight.
As per normal practice for inaugural flights, several members of the media were invited on the flight
A cockpit photo posted online came to the attention of the Civil Aeronautics Administration.
They are investigating the incident, with a fine possible.
