Airports get USD8 billion federal aid
The Federal Aviation Administration has dispersed aid worth $8 billion to US airports. It is part of the Airport Rescue Grants program created in the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
Funding goes toward keeping aviation workers employed and airport refurbishment and expansion projects going. It includes a grant of $4.9 million for Gulfport-Biloxi International up to more than $300 million for Los Angeles International.
In addition small general aviation airports will share $100 million in grants.
