Amadeus to help TMCs get to grips with technology issues
Amadeus has joined with the Guild of Travel Management Companies to investigate the changing landscape of hotel distribution and its implications for business travel agents.
The study is part of a broader remit to explore the role of technology in shaping the future of travel.
Amadeus and the GTMC have already worked together on various studies and reports, including Amadeus’ Hotel Insights Report.
Amadeus has also undertaken research among UK business travellers and corporate buyers in association with the Institute of Travel and Meetings.
The findings of this research will be presented at the GTMC’s Autumn Conference in London on November 3.
"Earlier this year Amadeus, in a GDS agnostic approach, cut through the hype and speculation surrounding IATA’s NDC (New Distribution Capability) to increase our members’ understanding of the potential business impact on the TMC community," said GTMC CEO Paul Wait.
"We are now extending this collaborative approach to focus on other important areas of interest to our members.
"The area of hospitality has been identified as a rapidly changing landscape for a multitude of reasons, so it makes sense to get to grips with the issues and start thinking about how the industry can work together to continue to serve the needs of business travellers in the most efficient manner possible, and in turn enable TMCs to demonstrate their knowledge and value to their customers."
