An American Airlines jet was forced to return to Phoenix shortly after take-off when an engine part fell off.
American Airlines said flight 403 to San Francisco returned to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport after a section of an engine cowling came loose and fell to the ground.
No one was injured and the plane landed safely without incident, American spokeswoman Polly Tracey said.
The Airbus A320 was carrying 136 passengers, she said.
The part was recovered at the airport and an investigation is underway by officials at the airport.
The Federal Aviation Administration was also informed, American said.
The flight later took off and arrived in San Francisco after a two-hour delay.
