Merger partners American Airlines and US Airways will finally combine their respective frequent flier programs within the next month.

The integration will eventually see the demise of US Air’s Dividend Miles as its members will all be moved over to American’s AAdvantage program.

All members were informed in an email which read: “In October, we announced we would combine our frequent flier programs in the second quarter of this year and now, we’re on track to bring the US Airways Dividend Miles program into the AAdvantage program within the next 30 days. We’ll be providing you with more information on timing in the next few weeks.”

American spokeswoman Laura Nedbal said the airline is not ready to announce the actual date yet.

“We don’t have a specific date to share yet, but the merger will take place within the next 30 days,” Nedbal said.

The email said it will suspend activity for Dividend Miles award tickets and upgrade requests a few days before the integration takes place and has urged members to book now for travel over the next few weeks.
