Austria to ban flights from UK

Austria is the latest country to impose a ban on direct flights from the UK. Like several other EU nations, Vienna is concerned over the spread of the Indian variant. Austria added the UK to a list of ‘virus variant states,’ which includes Brazil, India and South Africa.
Effective 1 June, restrictions allow entry only for Austrian citizens, those with residency rights and others travelling for very limited essential reasons. It comes a day after Germany, imposed similar restrictions on the UK.
