AVANI opens first Indian Ocean hotel

AVANI Hotels and Resorts has opened its first property in the Indian Ocean – AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort and Spa.

The luxury hotel brand, launched by Thailand-based Minor Hotel Group in 2011, has opened the hotel following a $14 million refurbishment.

A 25-minute drive from Seychelles International Airport, the resort is located on Barbarons Beach along Mahe’s west coast.

It has 124 guest rooms and suites, each with a balcony or terrace with garden, pool or ocean views.

AVANI Hotels and Resorts currently has 13 properties in operation in Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Seychelles, Mozambique, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Zambia, with a pipeline of further openings in Asia and the Indian Ocean.

Minor Hotel Group plans to grow the brand across Asia, India and the Indian Ocean and in the Middle East.
