Azul expands JetBlue codeshare pact

Azul Brazilian Airlines is expanding its codeshare agreement with partner JetBlue.
Azul will place its ‘AD’ code on multiple JetBlue routes which serve Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood and Orlando.
Azul flies nonstop daily from Sao Paulo to both Florida airports.
"We’re pleased that customers booking Azul travel will be able to benefit from convenient connections through JetBlue’s growing list of destinations from our Florida focus cities," said Robin Hayes, JetBlue CEO.
The unilateral codeshare expansion is still subject to government approval.
"We are excited that our customers get to experience JetBlue’s award winning service. Also, the agreement with JetBlue grows Azul’s travel options in the international market, expanding our service network to destinations served by JetBlue," said David Neeleman, Azul’s CEO, who was also the founder and former CEO of JetBlue.
Azul last week announced it has acquired $90 million in convertible bonds in TAP Portugal and will sublease 17 aircraft to the Portuguese airline.
