BA apologises for IT glitch at Heathrow
British Airways has apologised to customers after an IT glitch led to major queues at Heathrow Terminal 5 yesterday.
The airline said the problems, which affected check-in and bag drop, were resolved ‘as quickly as possible’ and took place on what was already a busy morning.
One frustrated passenger posted pictures of long queues and tweeted: "@British_Airways you utter shambles. 2hr+ wait, 7-lane queue for Club bag drop. Desks unmanned, ppl missing flights."
The airline said no flights were delayed as a result of the problems.
The recently-installed system also failed last month but a spokesman for BA denied there were ongoing issues with it.
"Ten million passengers have already used our new check-in system as we introduce it around the world," he said.
