BA sever links with Saatchi
British Airways has severed links with advertising agency M&C Saatchi which devised the slogan “the world’s favourite airline.”
The move to award its £60 million advertising account to Bartle Bogle Hegarty marks the end of a 23-year association with Saatchi.
BA commercial director Martin George said the decision was based on the “changing environment” of the aviation industry.
“We have enjoyed a long and successful relationship with M&C Saatchi which has produced many memorable campaigns over the years,” he said. “However, we must look to the future now and adapt to the changing environment in which we operate and the needs of the business.”
BBH, which pitched against three rivals, including M&C Saatchi, was chosen for its “creativity and strategic thinking.”
