BA signs up to FlightScanner
Dolphin Dynamics has added another traditional schedule carrier to its agent flight search, FlightScanner.
FlightScanner will now search British Airways’ agency booking website, Trade Fare Explorer for UK domestic flights and European flights originating in the UK. It was a deal that Dolphin Dynamics president, Roberto da Re mentioned in October.
Dolphin says agents will earn the full BA booking payment and get free ticket fulfillment.
In order to book tickets using Trade Fare Explorer through FlightScanner, agents must have registered with BA.
At the moment FlightScanner is still free to use, but Roberto da Re (pictured) told TravelMole: "It will probably continue to be free until January, but after that we intend to look into charging for FlightScanner on a monthly subscription basis. We will launch different versions that will be priced independently".
FlightScanner is an agency tool to search and book fares on tickets not available through a GDS. It searches ten airline websites including no-frills carriers like Buzz, Ryanair, easyJet, bmibaby and Virgin Express, and the traditional schedule carrier, Aer Lingus. Mr da Re said he intended to add more traditional schedule carriers, with access to trade sections of the website, where available.
