Barbara Cassani to head Jurys Inns
Budget chain Jurys Inns has appointed the former boss of budget airline Go Barbara Cassani as chairman.
She was most recently non-executive chairman of Spanish low fare airline Vueling.
Cassani, who saw Go sold to easyJet for £374 million in 2002, has been recruited into the newly-created role by Jurys Inns owner, private equity and property group Quinlan Private.
She has been charged with driving growth of the brand across Europe.
The chain, formerly a division of Jurys Doyle Hotel Group, currently has 22 three-star hotels in city locations across the UK and Ireland with a total of 4,835 rooms. A property in Liverpool us due to open next week.
Jury Inns chief executive Niall Geoghegan said: “Barbara Cassani has an excellent understanding of the budget travel sector and brings with her a wealth of experience in developing businesses profitably.
