Berlin attack suspect shot dead in Milan

The suspect in the Berlin Christmas market has been shot dead in Milan.

Italy’s interior minister said the Tunisian, Anis Amri, had opened fire on police who asked him for ID during a routine patrol in the Sesto San Giovanni area of the city.

A police officer was injured in the shootout but not critically.

Monday’s lorry attack on a Berlin Christmas market left 12 dead and 49 injured.
