A US-bound flight was forced to make an emergency landing after an apparent bird strike.
The Japan Airlines’ Boeing 777 was carrying 233 passengers and 15 crew from Tokyo.
It took off from the city’s Haneda airport at 11am but returned an hour later, suffering from engine trouble.
"It seems that a bird got sucked into the left engine when taking off," a JAL spokesman told news agency AFP.
There were no injuries among any of the 248 people on board, he added.
