Blue Lagoon Cruises confirms 2008 CLDP dive/cruise program schedules

Saturday, 20 Apr, 2008 0

Fiji’s iconic Blue Lagoon Cruises has announced 2008 pricing and schedules for its seven-day/six-night ‘Cruise in Luxury – Dive in Paradise’ (CLDP) packages.

Effective 01 May, the seven-day/six-night CLDP programs will depart from the company’s home port of Lautoka on the first Monday of every month.

The CLDP programs provide a good option for super-keen dive enthusiasts looking to sample Fiji’s remote Yasawa Islands in combination with a luxury cruise.

The dive component includes up to 15 dives over the seven day cruise program – plus all equipment – with the flexibility to do as many or as few dives as required.

These include a night dive and wreck diving in the region which is renowned for its huge variety of marine life and endless coral pastures.

The venue for the night dive is Tavewa Breakers located off the southern tip of Tavewa Island less than 10 minutes from anchorage.

This reef offers good surfing as well as diving.

The maximum depth of this site is about 25 metres but the dive may be limited to 15 metres depending on night time visibility.

Tavewa Breakers features hard corals, sponges and plenty of sea fans ranging in size from 0.5 to 3.0 metres across.

It is quite common to see schools of trevally, Spanish mackerel and barracuda make appearances.

Visibility at Tavewa Breakers generally ranges from 15 to 18 metres.

Other close by dive sites include The Zoo, a spectacular deep dive with giant trevally, red bass and soft coral, and Whiskeys Reef, one of the Yasawa Islands more   beautiful dive sights in a region literally abounding with a huge variety of soft corals and sea life.

The boutique island cruise specialist’s ‘Gold Club’ cruise format also presents an ideal fit for divers with non-diving friends or family.

The comfortably paced, nicely blended ‘Gold Club’ program combines plenty of time ashore with bushwalking, snorkelling safaris, swimming, visits to remote village and cultural activities.

CLDP programs for two divers are priced from AUD2769* per person based on twin share.

CLDP programs for one diver and one non-diver are priced from AUD2369* per person based on twin share.

*Conditions apply. Please note prices do not include beverages or international airfares.
