Bmi has removed all fuel surcharges on flights within UK and Europe.
The move “recognises the current economic situation and the need to provide more affordable and transparent air fares for business and leisure travellersâ€, the airline said.
But surcharges are still in place on bmi regional UK and European flights.
Bmi managing director Peter Spencer said: “Our extensive UK domestic and European mainline network links 17 cities and the abolition of fuel surcharges on these short haul flights are designed to help encourage more business and leisure travel.â€
The airline is also emphasising its lack of hidden baggage, check-in or seat selection charges – unlike low-cost competitors – in national newspaper advertisements.
