Bmibaby seeks agent bookings

Thursday, 24 Oct, 2002 0

Bmibaby is trying to boost agent bookings by signing up with a GDS.

The no-frills carrier has chosen Galileo International to distribute its tickets. Agents will be able to book bmibaby flights from East Midlands Airport by 27 October, and the rest of the network by mid December.

A statement from the airline said: “The announcement further extends the commitment to the travel trade by bmibaby offering, unlike many low cost operators, the flexibility to book through a variety of booking systems including GDS, with which agents are most familiar”.

Of its no-frills competitors, Buzz, EasyJet/Go, and Ryanair are not distributed through GDSs, although EasyJet/Go is launching a trade website at the end of the year.
