Plane maker Boeing has announced a landmark agreement with Iran Air.
Iran’s Transportation Minister Abbas Akhoundi earlier said the deal could be worth up to $25 billion, in what would be the first major deal for a US company in Iran since the since the nuclear treaty was signed.
The agreement is thought to be for about 100 planes but Boeing has yet to disclose details.
"Boeing will continue to follow the lead of the US government with regards to working with Iran’s airlines, and any and all contracts with Iran’s airlines will be contingent upon US government approval," a Boeing statement said.
The first jets could be delivered as early as October, according to the AP.
Iran Air has already agreed orders with Airbus and fellow European plane maker ATR for more than 100 planes.
