Brittany Ferries has placed an order for its largest and cleanest ever cruise-ferry.
The ferry company claims it will be the most environmentally-friendly ship to operate in UK waters.
It will run on Liquefied Natural Gas, which is natural gas that emits about 25% less carbon dioxide during combustion than oil.
The ship, costing £225 million, will enter service in late spring 2017, operating on the longer routes between the UK and Spain.
It will replace Brittany Ferries’ current flagship, Pont-Aven, which will move to the Portsmouth-St Malo route.
Like Pont-Aven, the ship will have an indoor swimming pool, two cinemas, restaurants, and pet kennels.
In addition, she will have 30 pet-friendly cabins, a quiet reading lounge, two children’s play areas, a teenager zone, an observation area, and a spa treatment room with panoramic views.
Free Wi-Fi will be available in every cabin and throughout the ship.
