CAA congratulates itself for ‘smooth’ Monarch repatriation
The repatriation of 110,000 Monarch customers is due to finish on Sunday and the CAA says it’s only got 10,000 more to bring back.
It congratulated itself on the ‘smooth’ flying programme and on being able to fly 98% of passengers back on the day they were originally supposed to return home from their trip.
The two-week repatriation has already seen 545 flights operated and 29 more flights are planned for today, bringing back more than 3,900 passengers.
Richard Moriarty, CAA group director of consumers and markets, said:~"This has been an enormous task, and by the end of Sunday we will have operated 700 flights.
“We thank all our partners, including the airlines, airport operators, ground handling teams and coach companies for all their support. We will continue to work around the clock until the end of the flying programme."
