Carnival cancelling three Vista sailings
Carnival Cruise Line has announced the cancellation of three of Carnival Vista’s upcoming sailings.
Its last two cruises have been impacted by propulsion problems resulting in reduced cruising speed and cancelled port calls, and it will take the ship into dry dock for an extended period to fix the problem.
The issue relates to one of the azipod thrusters.
Therefore the July 6, July 13 and July 20 departures have been cancelled.
"The Carnival Vista has been experiencing an issue affecting its maximum cruising speed. Unfortunately, we will be unable to operate these voyages, as it is necessary to remove the ship from service to complete the required repairs," a statement said.
"Since we’d love nothing more than to welcome you back, we will be extending a 100% future cruise credit," the company said.
The credit is good for a cruise departing December 20, 2020.
Carnival said it will automatically process full refunds and is offering up to $200 to cover flight change fees.
Prior to the repair, the Vista’s next two departures will be pushed back and extended to eight days.
The scheduled July 22 departure from Galveston will now depart a day later, and the July 29 cruise is pushed back to a July 1 departure.
