Cello Aviation ceases trading

Birmingham-based Cello Aviation has ceased trading.

The company operated VIP charters and had a small fleet including two aircraft that were operated on behalf of French regional carrier Hop,

It is owned by Gill Group, a Birmingham-based company with a diverse range of interests in in civil engineering, insurance brokerage and aggregrates.

Cello said it ceased trading on October 12,

According to Flightglobal.com, the carrier’s last filed full-year financial statement, to the end of March 2017, shows it made an operating loss of nearly £302,000 on a turnover of nearly £8 million.

Its loss for the previous year was £961,000, and previous accounts noted the company owed an increasing sum – more than £6.6 million – to its parent company, Flightglobal.com added.

The company said it regretted ceasing trading and apologised for inconveniencing customers and suppliers.
