China orders halt to Boeing deliveries

Plane maker Boeing has been dragged into the trade war between the US and China.
Beijing has reportedly ordered its airlines not to accept any further deliveries of Boeing planes.
Shares of Boeing initially fell on the news.
The plane maker is the biggest exporter in the US.
China recently raised tariffs on US goods to 125% in a tit-for-tat move.
China’s biggest three airlines, Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines have orders for dozens of planes due for delivery over the next few years.
Separately, Boeing said recently that tariffs could also impact the supply of aircraft parts from its suppliers.
About two-thirds of Boeing’s order book for new jets is with foreign airlines.
