CLIA creates European role
CLIA has confirmed that Antoine Lacarriere is to join the organisation to spearhead its trade activities in France, Belgium and Netherlands.
Lacarriere spent the last eight years oat Croisieres de France, a subsidiary of Pullmantur, as general manager for France, Belgium and Switzerland.
He began his career as sales and marketing director at the Accor Hotel Arena, and later managed business development and partnerships at Disneyland Resort Paris.
In his newly-created CLIA role, he will be responsible for developing the European Travel Agent Programme in the three countries and for trade promotions, campaigns and events.
He will also play a key role in engaging key stakeholders in France, Netherlands and Belgium, including cruise lines and ports.
Andy Harmer, senior vice-president membership, said: "With tremendous industry investment in new and refurbished ships, in ports and itineraries, it is vital that travel agents in Europe understand the opportunities to grow their cruise business.
"We are delighted to confirm CLIA’s commitment in each of these key European markets and will be working alongside all main stakeholders to build a focussed programme that meets the needs of all travel agents."
