Co-pilot faints, easyJet flight issues ‘red alert’
A ‘red alert’ was issued for an easyJet flight after the co-pilot passed out mid-flight.
The co-pilot, manning the Luton to Lisbon flight, was taken to hospital in Lisbon after the Airbus A320 plane landed without incident at the weekend, local media reported.
The first officer fainted just before it reached Lisbon.
The flight was carrying 193 passengers and was able to touch down normally ‘in line with procedures,’
The airline confirmed the incident: “Flight EZY2459 from Luton to Lisbon was met by paramedics upon landing due to a pilot member feeling unwell.”
“The captain landed the flight routinely and passengers disembarked normally. At no point was the safety of the flight compromised.”
