CodeGen offers web browser alternative
WTM Special: CodeGen is launching a version of TravelBox Technology which it says copes better with complex supplier contracts than web-browser based systems.
TravelBox Technology consists of four solutions aimed at online (TravelBox Online) and offline (TravelBox Office)distribution, a mixture of both (TravelBox MultiChannel), and flight-only (TravelBox Basic). The solutions can be used to sell to trade clients, corporate clients or direct to the public, from the internet, a reservations centre, or call centre.
The solutions incorporate CodeGen’s Fares Manager and Reservations Manager inventory management systems. They allow travel distributors to load inventory on Windows style interfaces, and incorporate complex contracts.
Reservations Manager will accommodate different commissions, supplements, contract rules, and discount schemes for a number of different products including: Attractions, accommodation, car hire, coach tours, cruise holidays, packaged holidays and insurance.
Fares Manager is a negotiated fares database that can manage open jaws, surface sectors, multi sectors and airline alliance fare types. CodeGen managing director, Mike Hughes told TravelMole that the Fares Manager solution could incorporate unlimited multi-sector itineraries.
Both solutions allow contract cloning, to save time inputting information when sectors are governed by the same contract.
Mr Hughes said the solutions were catered to today’s travellers. He said: “These days people don’t just want to go to Disneyland, they want to go to Disneyland, then spend two days in Washington and fly out of New York.” He said the solutions made homeworking a real possibility.
CodeGen has kept its cost base down by developing the technology in Sri Lanka, and operating sales and marketing and account management from an office in the UK.
It is possible to get a quote online for buying TravelBox software by going to the website. CodeGen is offering a discount to Meridien Club members of WTM. To qualify enter the username “WTM” and the password “travelbox”.
