Comtec acquires web-design company
Travel technology company Comtec has made its first acquisition since the management buy-out with the purchase of travel web-design agency Jamber.
The move, says the new owners led by RJD Partners, is the start of a spree that will be funded by an acquisition fund for future growth and expansion in “complementary business sectorsâ€.
Comtec sees Jamber, which has already done some projects for the company, as helping it to offer a more rounded, holistic e-commerce design and development service.
Jamber’s clients include Thomas Cook, Harvey World Travel, United Co-op and Hilton International.
Comtec CEO Simon Powell said: “Jamber is a well-established specialist web-design agency, with an impressive portfolio of travel and leisure-focused clients and a reputation for delivering engaging, effective and accessible websites.
“Many of Comtec’s ecommerce clients require web-design services and it makes sense for us to offer a complete, integrated, design and delivery programme to clients requiring an expert one-stop service.
“Having in-house design specialists will also enable us to have better control over the ongoing development of our travel agent and tour operator web-based selling systems.â€
