The Bolivian airline involved in a deadly crash which decimated a Brazilian pro soccer team has been indefinitely suspended from flying.
The initial grief is now turning to anger with questions why the plane operated by charter company LaMia apparently ran out of fuel.
Senior executives at the civil aviation authority and the airport administrator have also been suspended.
Most players from the Brazilian soccer team Chapecoense Real and 20 journalists were among the 71 dead when the plane crashed om Monday.
In a frantic voice recording aired on Colombian TV the pilot said the plane was out of fuel shortly before crashing.
Airline spokesman Gustavo Vargas said the plane was supposed to land at Bogota for a refuelling stop but the pilot apparently skipped this.
"The pilot made the decision not to enter Bogota airport because he thought he had enough fuel. We’re talking about a pilot with a lot of experience who did his training in Switzerland," Vargas told local media.
