Cruise line offers Antarctica sleepover
Hurtigruten has launched a new excursion where passengers can camp overnight in Antarctica.
The Norweigan passenger line is opening the excursion to 15 guests at a time who leave the ship behind and camp overnight on shore equipped with outdoor equipment specially tailored to the region, including warm winter sleeping bags and expedition tents.
The trip was developed in collaboration with the Norwegian Polar Institute in order to guarantee the safety of the guests and the protection of the sensitive local environment.
All guests will receive a full briefing before going ashore for the night and all the necessary equipment for the excursion is provided on board Hurtigruten’s expedition ship MS Fram. Two members of MS Fram’s team will escort the group.
