Cruise ship returns after stretching
Royal Caribbean International’s Enchantment of the Seas has resumed service after being stretched.
The 2,000-passeger ship has been lengthened with the addition of a 73-ft midsection to provide an additional 151 cabins and a range of new features.
A Splash Deck for children, four bungee trampolines and two 75-ft-long suspension bridges which extend out over the sea on the pool deck have been added as part of the refit of the eight-year-old vessel.
The ship’s main pool area has been expanded by almost 50 per cent to create the new water feature for children.
Many other parts of the ship have been refurbished, including the main dining room, café, shopping area and spa.
Enchantment will be undertaking Canada/New England cruises from Philadelphia and Boston until the end of September. The ship then sails in the Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale in winter offering four and five-night itineraries.
Royal Caribbean president Adam Goldstein said: “We’ve committed ourselves to providing innovative, exciting and unexpected experiences for our guests, and we are willing to stretch ourselves and our ships – literally – to fulfil that promise.”
