Curfew lifted in Tunisian capital

An overnight curfew has been lifted in Tunis after 10 days.

It had been put in force following four days of anti-government protests in the city.

Authorities said it was no longer necessary now that the security situation has improved and arrests have been made.

According to Reuters reports, 1,400 people have been detained and 300 charged with dangerous crimes since 7 May.
