Travel management company Direct Travel is expanding across the border having agreed a deal to merge with Canada’s largest independent travel management company Vision travel.
The merger will create a combined business with a workforce of more than 2,000 across North America and more than $3 billion in sales revenue.
Together they will operate out of 60 locations in North America.
Vision offers corporate, meetings and leisure travel services and will remain operating in Canada under the Vision Travel brand name.
The respective management teams will remain in place.
"This is a tremendous growth opportunity for both companies and will benefit our clients by broadening our position as leaders in travel well into the future," said Direct travel CEO Ed Adams.
The merger is slated for completion at the end of April.
In recent years Direct Travel has been in steady expansion mode with the acquisitions of Georgia International Travel, Traveline Travel Services, Colpitts World Travel and MacNair Travel.
