EasyJet celebrates 25 years at Belfast International
EasyJet is marking a quarter century of flying at Belfast International Airport.
The airline celebrated 25 years by surprising passengers with giveaways flying from Belfast International.
It included cakes as well as free easyJet return flights.
EasyJet debuted at Belfast with a flight to London Luton and now has eight Airbus A320 family aircraft based in Belfast.
It operated its largest flight programme from Belfast International this year with 9.4% more capacity than pre-pandemic levels.
In the past year, the airline has added four new Belfast flights to Antalya in Turkey, Rhodes, Southampton and most recently Hurghada.
This connects Belfast and Egypt for the first time.
Flights to Hurghada are set to launch shortly on 31 October with weekly departures throughout the year.
Belfast flights to Southampton are set to launch on 29 October with departures up to three times a week,.
EasyJet says it now offers more capacity from Belfast to Spain and Portugal than any other airline.
Graham Keddie, Belfast International MD, said: “EasyJet have become an integral part of the airport’s growth providing employment to hundreds of people”
Last month the airline put on sale its summer 2024 schedule across 155,000 easyJet flights between 3 June 2024 and 1 September 2024.

Easyjet should use some of their influence as probably the largest client of BFS to ensure that improvements are made to the passenger experience at the airport. Ridiculously lengthy waits for luggage, frequently "no steps available" when planes have landed, very lengthy waits queued up in concrete stairwells while waiting to board flights. They could learn a few lessons from Belfast City Airport.
