EasyJet flight disruption continues
EasyJet issued an apology and invited miffed customers to apply for compensation following an IT outage.
The airline was forced to cancel about 200 flights on Thursday.
While the outage was rectified, disruption has lingered into Friday.
“We apologise for the inconvenience caused and customers can apply for compensation in line with regulations,” the airline said.
“While we expect to operate most of our remaining flying programme some may still be subject to some disruption in the coming hours.”
The worst of the disruption has eased but passengers are still facing delays at Gatwick Airport early Friday.
Reports said long queues formed for passengers checking in.
Flights to Belfast, Amsterdam, Berlin and Barcelona have already been cancelled this morning, according to the airline’s flight tracker.
Which? Travel editor Rory Boland said: “Thousands of passengers are facing huge inconvenience and many will be left out of pocket.”
“The airline must also offer the option of a refund or to rebook passengers on any reasonable route as quickly as possible, using other carriers where necessary.”
