easyJet targets business travellers
Low cost airline easyJet hopes to attract corporate bookings with the introduction of a dedicated website area for managing business travel arrangements.
The move follows last year’s takeover of low cost rival Go – a move that analysts predicted would lead to easyJet taking a bigger interest in the business sector which Go had successfully targeted.
Users register for the free service by clicking a link on the home page. Password protected pages then allow corporate customers to access monthly management information so they can track travel spend. Fares are the same as on the public website, and the pages also feature network and timetable information. Passengers who book through the b2b area of the site will be sent an email that includes their confirmation number and itinerary details.
Commercial director Mike Cooper said: “More and more businesses have been cutting their travel budgets dramatically by flying with low cost airlines over recent years. Particularly in the current climate, these companies want to take advantage our low fares whilst maintaining valuable management information and the ability to immediately know where their people are.”
