Etihad to expand from Ireland
Etihad Airways is to boost flights from Dublin to Abu Dhabi with a daily service.
The current six times a week frequency is being increased from March 30.
The move comes less than a year since the airline started serving the Irish capital in July 2007, initially with four flights a week increasing to six in December.
More than 44,000 passengers have flown on the route since its launch with an average seat factor of more than 80% with 73% in business class.
Etihad operates a three-class A330-200 from Dublin, configured to carry 225 passengers.
The airline’s CEO James Hogan said: “Dublin has been one of Etihad’s most successful launches since the airline began in 2003 especially with customers flying onwards from Abu Dhabi to our destinations in the Far East such as Bangkok and Sydney.
“It is great news that we can now provide a daily operation to the Irish capital which has become such a key service for business and leisure travellers travelling between the UAE and Ireland.”
