Eurostar facing more disruption

Tuesday, 01 Oct, 2012 0

Eurostar services face further disruption this week because of a national strike planned in Belgium.

The industrial action on Wednesday October 3 is expected to cause major disruption across the Belgian rail network.

If it goes ahead, Eurostar will not run services to and from Brussels from 22:00 CET on 2 October to 22:00 CET on 3 October.

During this period, Eurostar services to and from Brussels will terminate and commence at Lille Europe station.

As a precaution, Eurostar is strongly recommending passengers planning to travel to or from Brussels on October 3, or on the 19:04 departure from London on October 2, to exchange their tickets for travel before or after.

Eurostar will offer refunds or exchanges free of charge regardless of ticket conditions, but subject to availability on alternative services.

Customers wishing to re-book their travel should contact their original point of sale, or Eurostar on 08432 186 186’¨ (UK), 02 40 06 731 (Belgium).

Those who are unable to travel and wish to refund their tickets should contact their original point of sale and this can be done anytime in the next two months.

A revised timetable will also be in operation to and from Lille Europe.

Passengers are asked to refer to the special timetable which will be published on Eurostar.com early next week to find their new departure times.

Eurostar service to and from Paris and Disneyland Paris will not be affected.

Eurostar schedules were also disrupted at the weekend (September 29/30) due to engineering works on the Eurotunnel.
