Eurostar and Eurotunnel have apologised after emergency repairs led to lengthy delays for passengers last night.
Eurotunnel blamed ‘essential unplanned maintenance work’ carried out to repair the track for causing a buildup of vehicles, with the company unable to sell tickets to non-reserved customers.
The service is now ‘operating to schedule’
The Channel Tunnel operator tweeted this morning: "Our passenger service is currently operating to schedule in both directions."
Eurostar said passengers delayed by over an hour will be compensated.
