Falling lamp post injures three Disney guests during strong winds
Strong winds at Disneyland toppled a lamp post which has injured three park guests.
One guest needed to be taken to hospital.
It happed early morning at the Anaheim park during a day of high winds across South California.
“At Disneyland, due to the high winds, a light pole blew over, injuring a few guests,” Disneyland said in a statement.
“Unfortunately, one guest was transported to the hospital.”
They has been no word on the condition of the hospitalized guest, who is thought to be an elderly woman with head injuries.
It toppled and landed onto a sidewalk at Main Street USA.
The light pole holds stage lighting for Main Street USA parades.
A small area of Main Street USA was cordoned off but otherwise park operations remained open.
Strong winds affected many areas of Orange County, San Bernardino, Riverside and Los Angeles.
Wind gusts reached up to 60 mph and left some trees uprooted.
Winds had eased by late Tuesday and early Wednesday.
