Fastjet appoints new chief
Fastjet has appointed Nico Bezuidenhout as CEO.
He joins from South African Airways’ low-cost subsidiary Mango Airlines and will take up his position on the Fastjet Board on August 1.
"Although market conditions are currently challenging, I am confident that we can build on the airline’s existing operational base to strengthen and develop the business and deliver on its considerable potential," said Bezuidenhout.
He replaces Ed Winter who stepped down in March after Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, Fastjet’s second largest shareholder, called a general meeting calling for his dismissal.
