Fire-damaged Star Princess cancels April trip

Wednesday, 27 Mar, 2006 0

The Star Princess’s planned 2 April cruise for the Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale was cancelled after a fire damaged the ship on an earlier cruise.

Passengers booked on the cancelled cruise will receive a full refund of cruise and air fare. Princess also said passengers will receive a 25% cruise credit for future trips.

All passengers aboard the ship were given other arrangements to return home after the fire.

Princess, part of Carnival Cruise Lines, decided to send the ship to a repair facility instead of bringing it back to Fort Lauderdale.

No announcement has yet been made for future cruise plans after 2 April. The cruise line says it will have announcements in the future.
