Five new routes for bmibaby
New routes to Perpignan, Amsterdam, Paris, Newquay and Knock are being introduced next year by bmibaby.
The airline is adding three new aircraft to take the fleet size up to 19 as the number of weekly flights inceases to more than 850 in 2006.
More than 100 jobs will be created with the expansion of the fleet, according to the carrier.
The additional Boeing 737s will be based at Cardiff, Durham Tees Valley and Nottingham East Midlands airports, and will result in bmibaby carrying more than four million passengers in 2006.
New routes for next summer include Durham Tees Valley-Knock, Manchester-Newquay and Perpignan; Nottingham East Midlands-Paris, and Cardiff to Amsterdam and Glasgow. Fares start at £16.99 one way, including taxes and charges.
Managing director David Bryon said: “Bmibaby’s growth strategy will continue in 2006 with the introduction of three additional Boeing 737s to our fleet demonstrating our commitment to providing low cost flights from regional airports to European destinations.”
