Flight Centre sets up FCm in Dubai
Flight Centre Limited has expanded into the Middle East by establishing a company-owned corporate travel presence in the United Arab Emirates.
The company has today extended its FCm Travel Solutions corporate travel and expense management network to the UAE with the opening of a Dubai office.
FCm Travel Solutions’ global executive general manager, Anthony Grigson, said Dubai had been identified in FCm’s growth plan as a strategic market offering significant business potential.
“This is a small and strategic investment that reflects our policy of extending the FCm Travel Solutions network to key international markets that are important to local, regional and global clients,” he said.
“Our presence in Dubai means we are now better placed to meet the corporate travel needs of local businesses and also the needs of international clients with commercial interests in this important commercial hub.”
“Working with our existing network partner in the Middle East, our Dubai office will have the capability to manage client needs across all key areas of this region.”
The new operation will be managed by Mr Rahul Nath, whose role as general manager of FCm’s highly successful Indian business will be expanded to incorporate Dubai.
Mr Nath has led the significant growth of FCm throughout India and brings substantial industry experience to the Dubai business.
FCm Travel Solutions, established as Flight Centre Limited’s corporate travel wing in 2004, now extends to more than 50 countries through direct ownership, joint ventures and strategic licensing agreements.
Flight Centre Limited’s ongoing plan is to extend the FCm network by taking advantage of licensing and strategic acquisition opportunities in the three major corporate regions – Asia-Pacific, UK-Europe-Middle East-Africa and the Americas.
FCm’s most recent acquisition was a 25% stake in Garber Travel Services Inc, an east coast United States business with a network of more than 20 offices in Massachusetts, California, Rhode Island, Illinois, Vermont, Virginia, New Hampshire, Toronto (Canada) and London (UK).
