Flybe to open Cardiff base

Thursday, 5 March 20153 min read

Flybe will open a new base at Cardiff this summer, basing two of its two of its existing Embraer E195 aircraft at the city’s airport.

One of the 118-seat aircraft will arrive in June and the second in September.

Together, they will serve 11 destinations – Belfast, Cork, Dublin, Dusseldorf, Edinburgh, Faro, Glasgow, Jersey, Munich, Milan Malpensa, and Paris Charles de Gaulle.

Seats will be on sale from tomorrow (Friday) along with the publication of full schedules.

Flybe CEO Saad Hammad said: "As part of Project Blackbird, we have been looking to find a productive home for our surplus E195 aircraft. We continue to seek solutions for the remaining seven E195 Project Blackbird aircraft."
